The 23rd Mecenate Fair Play Award will be held on 4 July 2019.
The award was established in 1997 and is organised and sponsored by the company Menarini, in collaboration with the town council of Castiglion Fiorentino and the provincial authority of Arezzo. It continues to be a precious encounter between sport, culture and social activity.
The purpose of Mecenate Fair Play Award
The purpose of the initiative is to enhance a concept of sport, both inside and outside the sporting world, that recognises the centrality of respect for the person, non-discrimination, fair and clean competition, non-violence and the fight against performance-enhancing drugs.
Menarini has therefore chosen to act as ambassador, through the award, for the principles and educational values of sport, spreading an Olympic culture also, primarily through the example of people who have made the history of contemporary international sport.
This unique event will be held on 4 July, in the town of Castiglion Fiorentino, where the new “ambassadors of fair play” and winners will be announced.
Each of them will receive, in their specific categories: a diploma with the specific reason for the award; a pin; a plaque depicting the figure of Maecenas and a handshake, which has always been the symbol of Fair Play.

Here at Moretti, we have decided to support this initiative actively and concretely by becoming a sponsor. We share the values and principles that inspired this award, making it an important international event.
The specific values we share most of all are accountability, inclusiveness, respect and innovation. Accountability, because we are always prepared to “play in the forward pack” in guaranteeing the quality and safety of our products, Inclusiveness, because we focus on the uniqueness of every single “player”, Respect, because we believe that “fair play” is the only route to success, and Innovation because we have always been open to change and to a “game plan” based on continual improvement.
