Anyone living with impaired mobility has one word that recurs repeatedly in their everyday life: planning.
Every change in location, every activity and every itinerary requires careful planning that considers the distances, the obstacles and the transfers.
The means used is obviously the crucial element in that planning and its features establish in detail both the range of action and the freedom and independence of the user.
With this situation in mind, three new electric wheelchairs have recently been added to the Ardea Mobility range of products of Moretti SpA. They are the result of meticulous planning and an innovative approach to design, combined with the desire to provide a tangible and reliable response to independent mobility needs.
In detail:
1. Frame
All three new electric wheelchairs have a folding frame, meaning they can be easily stored in the boot of a car, in an extremely small amount of space. They are easy to transport when closed, just as you would do with a piece of hand luggage.
In addition to being folding and transportable, the CM860 model can also be dismantled. The rear wheels, complete with motor, have a rapid release mechanism, which further reduces the dimensions when not in use.
2. Driving position
Independence without compromise.
Thanks to the new Mobility electric wheelchairs, you can choose a high-performance, independent and custom mobility solution for you and your loved ones. The dimensions of the driving seat, the inclination of the backrest (on the CM850 and CM860 models) and adjustment of the extractable footplate (on the CM860 model) allow the driving position to be personalised and adapted to the user’s own build.
3. Comfort
In the design of mobility aids, too often attention is focused on their reliability and performance, without considering the actual, practical needs of an electric wheelchair user in their everyday life. In other words, in addition to designing a new range of easy to handle and safe wheelchairs, we realised it was essential also to consider what the person driving it needs to take with them, and thus included bags and spacious compartments as an integral part of the design.
There is also a wide range of accessories, supports and baskets with which the user can complete their mobility solution independently.
4. Wheels
All three models have wheel rims and solid PU wheels. On the CM850 and CM860 models, the front fork has shock absorbers to allow more comfortable driving on uneven terrain.
5. Battery
Ready to fly!
All our electric wheelchairs have 6Ah lithium batteries that can be taken on flights and are completely chargeable in 6-8 hours. On the CM850 and CM860 models, the batteries are positioned on the side and have a charging indicator. All the models have an autonomy of 20 km, which can be extended to 32 km on the CM840 model.
6. Driving experience
How do you drive an electric wheelchair? It’s simple! With a joystick that can be installed on the right or on the left. The brushless motors allow the speed to increase with fluid and silent acceleration, for a truly pleasant and fun driving experience.
7. Safety devices
Are electric wheelchairs really safe? The answer is yes!
They are safe because they have an electromagnetic brake that is activated whenever the hand is removed from the joystick, and they are equipped with roll-over protection wheels (which can be installed if not already present), safety belts and non-slip footrests.
